The Beginning
Neelanjona Sabyasachi Thakur, aka Nilanjana Sarkar, a singer and voiceover artist, took tutelage in various forms of music from well-known musicians and performed in world-renowned auditoriums such as Carnegie Hall in New York, Ozawa Hall in Tanglewood and Esplanade Hall at Singapore in a musical project led by Yo Yo Ma, (15 Grammy Award-winning Cellist).
Her musical journey started way back in college when she formed a band, ‘Sanjeevani’, with some of her friends and released two albums, ‘Shanto Ashanto’ from Raga music and ‘Destination World Cup’ from Asha audio, in 2000 and 2003, respectively.
She didn’t limit herself by just being a VO artist and a playback singer. She further extended her expertise by being a top-ranking Radio Jockey on 92.7 Big FM, Kolkata, as ‘RJ Neel’, which ruled the airwaves for almost a decade.
